The Next Chapter… (Part 3)

Dress: Gal Meets Glam Collection // Heels: Steve Madden (Similar HERE) // Purse: Le Parmentier // Earrings: Emerald & Shea

Welcome to a very special post that is something a little more personal today. The next chapter in my life! If you have not seen or read on social media, I will be graduating for the second time on Saturday:) To say this day is something I am excited for/incredibly nervous for all at the same time would be an understatement. A little back story, I went back to school after graduating in 2016 from OU and I got my master is Business Analytics from SMU. I spill out all the personal details about why I went back in a blog post I wrote a year ago that you can read HERE.

“Well what are you planning on doing after you graduate?”, is something you hear quite often and for the first time in my life I actually have a plan! Wow that sounds weird to say haha. Ever since I graduated in 2016 I have constantly been searching for my purpose or my passion. While I love this blog and so wish I could do it full time, I find it best to get real world experience first! So in July I will be heading into the big world of CONSULTING!!

I could not tell you how much of a relief it is knowing that this is something that I am truly excited for. I actually got offered the job back in October last year but it was contingent on me finishing my masters first. For some, traveling Monday – Thursday to clients sites might not be fun but to me it sounds like a blast! I have had internships where I sit at a desk for hours which has made me realize I need something very dynamic to keep me interested. It does not feel real that I will have to be a true (but not really) adult! For the past 17 years of my life I have had the security of knowing that school was where I was and every year I was going to be doing just that. Now “officially” entering the real world brings challenges of that security being taken away from me. I am nervous/excited all at the same time which feels so weird haha.

So why share the next chapter in my life? Well this blog is a little diary to me and going back and looking at the other “Next Chapter” posts has shown me how much I have grown over the years! Another reason I love to share “my story” is because I hope it inspires others. Taking leaps of faith in small or big ways can be so impactful down the road. When coming out of college I took a huge leap of faith with going back to school and now I find myself again taking another big leap jump starting my career. I am a big believer that we are our own biggest advocates so being able to invest in yourself and the dreams you have will take you further than you could imagine!

I would love to hear in the comments below if you have a “Next Chapter” happening in your life or simply how you are investing in yourself to live out your dreams!

PS. I got this dress from the Gal Meets Glam collection specially for my graduation:) I am beyond obsessed with the floral pattern and buttons down the front. I thought the dress was a perfect fit for starting a new beginning as Julia Engel has inspired so many with starting her dress collection!
