Thank you to my good friend Stephen Collins with The Harker 5 Star Reality for helping me with this home!!

Hello and welcome to my new crib:) I can not believe I have been able to keep this a secret for a little less than a month now haha! I didn’t tell many people because I didn’t want to get my hopes up. The whole thing happened so fast and I didn’t think it was really real… but here we are!!

A little background story for y’all about my living situation for the past 2.5 years. After college I decided to move back in with my parents. I took a job as a traveling consultant for my sorority, packed a suit case and carry on, and hit the road for 9 months. I didn’t need anywhere to live because I was living in other states. When I finished that job in 2017, I made a big decision to go back and get a Master’s Degree. Going to school and renting my own place was just not financial right for me so I continued living at home.

Once I finished school, I started my career with a consulting firm and took a traveling consultant position… or what I thought was going to be a traveling. I ended up getting on a local client (if you are in consulting you know this is not normal for most starting consultants). When I first took the job, I didn’t know what I was going to be doing or where I was going to be traveling so I decided to continue living at home till the end of 2018. I started looking at the end of 2018 to move out but with a lot of personal challenges going on it wasn’t the right time.

Starting right around when I was graduating with my master’s, I had made it a goal of mine to buy a house instead of rent. It was a big personal goal for me as I want to own something and start to gain equity. Right after the new year, I really started to look for a home that fit everything I wanted/needed. Personally, I did not think it would all happen as quickly as it did but the first place we looked at just felt so right.

About a week into the new year, I had found a place I liked online on a Monday. My mom and I went to go look at it that Friday. The whole time we were there all my mom kept saying was “This is just you. It feels like your home!” We came home talked it over and I put an offer in that Saturday (not expecting them to accept), got accepted the following Monday and were under contract until the end of the month. Today we closed on the house:)

Talk about a whirl wind of a time! The past couple weeks, I have spent all my free time reading contracts, meeting with people about the house, setting up a mortgage, signing more papers, looking into redoing the house, and much more. I can not believe this little place will be all mine!!

Over the course of me having this blog I have shared big new chapters in my life… aka why this is Chapter 4! Y’all have been here through it all and I can not wait to share more of the process of decorating, remodeling, and just the home buying experience!!
