It is finally December so the year is coming to and end. During the end of the year, I love to start looking back on how much I grew and all the things I did professionally. But most importantly what my strengths were.

If you have been in the corporate world for a while then you will know all about Strength Finder. Almost every company I have ever been in has asked me to take the Strength Finder test. I have taken it 3 times over the course of about 5 years and gotten mostly consistent strengths. A few of them have changed but through research I found out that this is normal especially if you have gone through life altering events.

You might be wondering why is it important to take the Strength Finder test and how it helps professionally? At first I didn’t really understand but through working in teams and having to play into my strengths it has been very helpful. Also it’s a great opportunity to learn more about yourself! I love reading the descriptions in the Strength Finder book and thinking “wow that really is me!” haha.

I wanted to share on here what my strengths are so you can feel inspired to find out what yours are or better understand who I am. My top 5 strengths are:

1. Relator: I was not surprised when I got this as my top. It is something that has consistently stayed the same through the years. I love close relationships with people and relating to others around me. This is a strength for me because I like to form meaningful relationships with people.

2. Competition: This is a strength and a weakness for me. I am a highly competitive person and always have been. It’s helpful in the work place because I strive to push myself to go above and beyond. Unfortunately, this also goes into my personal life where I compare myself to everything.

3. Significance: I have shared on here a couple times how I have a desire to make a big impact in this world. Whenever I am making decisions I am always looking at the bigger picture. Through work I like to take charge on projects and take on challenges that will make an impact.

4. Discipline: If there is one thing I enjoy the most it is a good routine! I feel all out of it when I am not able to do my daily/weekly routines. Everything has some sort of structure to it and it helps me stay organized, as well as on track towards my goals.

5. Developer: I love to build people up around me through work or in my personal life. I see so much potential in people and it brings me so much joy to help grow. Knowing this about myself in work space allows me to manage people a lot better. I can pick up on peoples strengths very easily and actively invest furthering their development.

Have you taken the Strength Finder test before? If so, did you find it helpful in building yourself professionally? Have your strengths changed?

Have a wonderful rest of the week friends:)

Love the strength finders test! I had to take it my first year in college, but haven’t taken it since. This totally makes me want to take it again and see what has changed. I think personality tests are so helpful in learning about yourself, but also when you have to work on a team or lead a team of people. Thanks for sharing yours!
