Finding Work Wear To Transition To Fall!

We are heading into September which means for some fall is just around the corner! Here in Dallas, not so much haha. But around this time I love to start transitioning my work wear to fit a fall wardrobe. Skirts tend to be one of those items that I look past when fall comes around. So when I saw this olive green Vince skirt on the Nordstrom sale, I was excited to get to style it.

The skirt hits just below the knee and has this beautiful fitted sway to it that I love! I was worried about it being see through but it’s actually double lined which helps a lot with the fit. I can not stress enough how flattering it is on and just how comfy!! I got my regular size of small.

You might be wondering, what key areas do I look at when transitioning my clothes from summer to fall? I love to find work wear pieces that I would wear normally in the summer but in more fall colors. For example this skirt is a beautiful summer skirt but the olive green gives it those fall vibes. I do this with my blazers as well. I love to find light blazers that have a fun fall print to them. That way I can wear them now and wear them later in the fall. This is key for working in Dallas because fall doesn’t actually start till much later in the year.

What are your thoughts on transitioning work wear from summer to fall? What items do you have in your closet carry throughout the year? The best thing you can do when building a closet is finding those staples. No matter what the weather they work great! For me, it’s black pants, white blouse and flats. Kind of sounds boring but it’s so easy and simple. I tend to invest a lot more into those items that go between seasons because I know I will wear them longer.
