Favorite Books I Read This Summer + Living Room Update

This summer I got an opportunity to actually sit down and read a couple books! Which if you know me then you know how rare it is I even read one book in a year haha. But with being home and getting to chill out more, I got through 4 books!! Now that we are heading into fall, I thought it would be a great opportunity to round up a book review for you. Nothing better than cozying up by the fire with a blanket and a good book:)

Something else I thought I would throw in to this post are links to living room items! I always get asked where items are from and if I can share the link so scroll towards the bottom to get all the details!!

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

The main character, Grace, has it all! The perfect husband, the perfect house, the perfect body and does everything a wife should do. But from the inside things are calculated and manipulated. Quickly you get to see behind the door and it is horrifying. This book really teaches you that not everything appears exactly they way you see things. People struggle have their own struggles.

If you want a thrilling book that will draw you in till the end then this is perfect! Most books I can kind of guess how it’s going to end but this one I had no idea. It was a pretty quick and easy read but I could not put it down!

WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING

Is the gut wrenching tale of a young girl, Kya, who grows up on her own in the marsh of North Carolina coast. When one of the guys from the town ends up dead, everyone suspects her. How it ends up will shock you! I didn’t want it to end because I wanted to know more!!

I will say the beginning was really slow and I wanted to skip to the juicy part. But I the beginning details really played a huge key part in the ending. Towards the middle of the book I was flying through the book. So make sure to stick it out for the first part because it’s a really good book!

THE LAST MRS. PARRISH

Amber wants to make something of herself but not by working hard. She wants to take advantage of people to get what she wants. Amber thinks she can manipulate Daphne to insinuate herself into a very wealthy family’s life. Once she is Daphne’s closest friend, she puts her plan into action to become Mrs. Parrish. But things turn very dark very quickly and the turn of events will leave you speechless.

This was another really fast read for me because I couldn’t wait to figure out how it all ended! It is pretty triggering and things are very descriptive so just a warning. I heard they are making a movie/show about this book and I am so glad I read it before something comes out. I feel like movies/shows never do a book justice!

THE LAST TIME I SAW YOU

Dr. Kate English has everything from the handsome husband, great career and huge house but when her mom gets murdered things unravel quickly. An old friend from high school, Blaire, comes back to town to help friend through this tough time. She takes on the search for the killer but what she finds is more than that. Meanwhile Dr. Kate English starts to receive scary threats that lead to her rapid mental decline. But are the murder and the crazy threats related??

Wow! This book was probably my number 1 book all summer. The twists and turns were so suspenseful that I couldn’t figure out the ending at all. I promise you won’t regret reading this book!
