One afternoon we took Casey for a walk down by the river. The sun was setting behind the mountains and it was so beautiful to watch. We let her off her leash to be able to run around before going back into her crate for the night (She is small but man is she fast). We were walking and this lady ran by us. We didn’t think anything of it until we saw Casey take off after her. I was laughing way to hard to catch up to her so Jeremy took off on a full sprint to stop her. The lady running stopped and was really sweet about the whole thing but I have never seen a puppy run so fast in my life. She is just way to cute to get mad at sometimes which makes punishing her really hard at times. Anyway, I have always known about the Botanic Park by the river but never been in it before so of course I dragged Jeremy and Casey to go see all the flowers (Jeremy was not as excited as I was). The tulips were so pretty! I just wanted to cut them off and take them home with me (Of course I didn’t but I still wanted too)!!

That was our last day before we went home for the week. It was sad to leave because of how relaxing it was up there. Casey was so good on the way home again. She slept more which was really helpful!

Jeremy and I decided to take the day off from Casey and go on a 6 mile hike up to my favorite water fall. It starts off with a huge waterfall at the bottom (first picture) and then you hike up a really steep part till it flattens out a bit. There is smaller waterfall half way from the bottom to the top and it is a great resting point. We decided to take a break and get some water because we had already been hiking for 2 hours. On the way up to the top Jeremy decided that he was going to go off rock climbing and ended up cutting himself up so we had to stop again. Finally when we were up at the top it was beautiful. We decided to sit on the rock by the waterfall and eat some lunch before we headed back down. All in all it took us about 4 hours to complete. I was completely exhausted by the time we got back (so out of shape ha) but it was so worth it. There is so much to see will hiking! It is a really popular place for locals to go hike during the summer. Plus you don’t have to do the full 6 miles, just hike as much as you can!

Steamboat, CO

IMG_4213IMG_4291IMG_4285IMG_4297IMG_4230IMG_4235IMG_4225IMG_4215

At the beginning of the summer my boyfriend (Jeremy) decided he wanted a puppy for his 21st birthday so we decided to shop around for puppies and completely fell in love with this little girl. Her name is Casey and she has the biggest personality. If you have any idea what kind of dog she is we would love to know because we have no idea (Jeremy thinks she is a Black Lab with a mix of Great Dane). We decided we wanted to go on a trip after school finished in May and decided to head up to colorado for a week. We got Casey on a Saturday and then that Wednesday we left for Steamboat. I have no idea why we thought it would be a great idea to take a 3 month old on a road trip but we did. 16 hours in the car with her was not as bad as I expected. She didn’t pee or poop in the car at all (TMI sorry!) but she did get bored really fast and wanted to play the whole time. When we got there she was a complete angel. We took her on walks up the mountain (not too far) and took her to parks to run around.

I am completely in love with Steamboat. I have been going there since I was about 10 years old. It is such a small little town with some of the best scenery. During the summer there are so many different activities going on. They have concerts in the Gondola square and there are tons of places to go hiking and biking. Tubing down the river through the town is probably one of my favorite things to do. There are also tons of cute little restaurants along the river that you can sit at and eat and drink at. During the winter it is Ski Town USA. There are tons of great slopes for all ages. The base of the mountain has tons of fireplaces and an outdoor bar. I would completely recommend this place to anyone because it is so great for families or for get away with friends.

Side note: these duck boots were on back order for the longest time so I would recommend ordering them before winter starts.

Thanks for reading!
