Breaking The Rules

Tank: Topshop // Jeans: Topshop // Cardigan: H&M // Booties: Nordstrom // Purse: Kate Spade

This is what I love so much about fashion… breaking the rules and doing what you want! Over the years things have changed, people used to conformed to what were the “fashion rules”, models were skinny and you were seen as the weird one if you didn’t didn’t fit into that category. Now it’s not like that and breaking those boundaries is seen as the “cool” thing! While simply wearing white after labor day might not be the ground breaking, earth shattering thing in the fashion world, it has become more and more of a trend if you will to break this rule.

People don’t want to follow stupid rules and want to find ways to break outside of them! That’s why this year we have found tons of different styles and colors all over NYFW. To say I am loving it is and understatement haha. I love the all white look with a bit of grey to change things up. It makes for a much brighter and less dull fall:)

¬†With the trend to wear white after labor day, it has allowed me to explore more of my wardrobe without filling boxes with items that I won’t be able to wear till next year! Texas is still so so hot, so who says I can’t be wearing a white tank at the start of fall? Call me the rebel but it has been a hot topic for this fall and it is a “trend” I am definitely following!

Hope everyone has a fabulous rest of the week and maybe I have inspired you to break some rules with your outfits;)

Ekkk haha today is my 24th Birthday and honestly I don’t know how I feel about it yet! (**insert monkey covering eyes emoji) I have so so many things I am incredibly thankful for but also struggling with the idea that I am actually becoming an adult! Anyway no one likes a complainer on their birthday haha! Today I thought I would share some fun facts (24 to be exact) about myself that not many of you know! Some of y’all have been long time readers so this might not be new but some of y’all are new around here and thought this might be a fun way to introduce myself!

Olive Fall!

Dress: Shop The Mint [c/o] // Heels: Steve Madden (Similar HERE) // Hat: Halogen // Purse: Rebecca Minkoff // Lips: MAC Lipstick ‘Rebel’ (My absolute favorite fall lip color!)

If the title doesn’t tell you how excited I am about fall then I don’t know what will haha! I have mentioned before that olive is my favorite color to wear during fall. I think it has something to do with the olive complimenting the red hair really nicely! I am not into wearing all black everything because I love color way to much but olive is a great dark color. It goes really well with burgundy or burnt orange (which I don’t wear much) or even just simple nude!

Shop The Mint has so many adorable pieces for the fall and I was super fortunate enough to pick one and style it for y’all! This one caught my eye immediately. I kept looking for a cute burgundy floppy hat to wear with it but couldn’t find one so I decided to style it with this one! Besides the gorgeous embroidery on the front and back of the dress, I loved the price point! Free People had one similar and that would have broken my bank account but Shop The Mint has it in multiple different colors and for half the price:) Now I think that is a steal!!

We are definitely into that time of year where you wake up to 65 degrees outside, throw a sweater and jeans on then by 2 in the afternoon you are seriously regretting that decision because its 85! This dress is perfect for those days because it can easily be worn with a cute cardi and easily transition into a warmer weather outfit.

How’s everyone doing? I have been on the major struggle bus lately with trying to juggle everything (Grad school, a job, this blog, friends and family) haha but I am slowly getting into a good routine. Trying to do everything really puts into perspective what’s important to you and I am definitely finding that out real quick! Currently living my life by the minute with sticky notes to organize it… yikes! It’s a hot hot mess but good thing this isn’t forever.
